There’s a lot of cool NEW tech in the world, but it’s always fun to revisit the past and sample its odd and surprising flavors.

I’ve been writing online for years but became obsessed with typewriters last year after experiencing how their mechanical quirks can create a unique, all-encompassing writing experience that yields forms of expression you never knew were inside you.

If you want such an experience, I brought my favorite typer, a 1945 Smith Corona, to Edge this week to share this wonderful relic of the past with anyone who’d like to give it a go.

P.S. for anyone with families, kids generally really enjoy typewriters once they get the hang of it.

I’ll be in the lobby of the Hotel Lobby from 11am-1pm tomorrow. Look out for a blonde guy with a black typewriter, or just follow the sounds of the typer if you hear it!
